Yahoo Slurp Search Spider Crawls the Web - Yahoo Eyes Webmaster Bank AccountsInitially opening the door for Google domination of the search engine world via a coveted Yahoo/Google partnership, Yahoo has recently introduced its own "Inktomi-like" search engine to power Yahoo search. In an attempt to capture as much search market share as possible before Microsoft's release of its new MSN-bot powered search engine, Yahoo has set its new "Yahoo Slurp" search spider crawling the web. However, Yahoo's debut was not all fan-fare. Yahoo's dream of a cash crop, named "Site Match", sent webmasters reeling as Yahoo changed the "Inktomi" paid inclusion, into a "Site Match" Pay Per Click, demanding that webmasters not only pay for guaranteed inclusion, but pay 15 cents or more per click for all "Site Match" delivered traffic. If Yahoo felt that it's split with Google would effect Google's reign on search results, it is likely that they've lost touch with the nature of the internet. While search results remain strongly relevant in Yahoo, Yahoo will continue to have to rely upon its non-search-engine market share to drive visitors to use its search engine.
